White City, Utah, is a small, suburban community nestled in the heart of Salt Lake County, bordered by Sandy to the north and Draper to the south. Established in 1955 by developers Ken White and Cannon Papanicholas, the area was originally envisioned as a residential enclave in the southeastern part of the Salt Lake Valley. The first homes were constructed along Galena Drive in 1957, and the majority of the development occurred during the 1950s and 1960s. In 2006, White City was granted township status by the Salt Lake County Council, and in 2017, it was incorporated as a metro township. On May 1, 2024, White City officially became a city following legislation passed by the Utah Legislature. As of 2024, White City has an estimated population of 5,726 residents. The community is known for its family-friendly atmosphere, with a variety of parks and recreational facilities, including Big Bear Park, which features a large carved bear statue and access to the White City Canal Trail. Residents enjoy a suburban lifestyle with convenient access to the amenities and services of nearby Sandy and Draper.
