Start in Boulder, Utah
Begin on Highway 12 (Scenic Byway 12) heading north through the town, which lies at the base of Boulder Mountain.
Follow Highway 12 north toward Torrey. This section crosses Boulder Mountain, offering stunning switchbacks and scenic overlooks.
Continue northeast on Highway 12 past Torrey, passing near the boundary of Capitol Reef National Park, until you reach the junction with Utah State Route 24 (SR‑24).
Merge onto SR‑24 westbound, heading toward Salina, passing through scenic and largely rural terrain.
Upon reaching US‑50 / I‑70 corridor, proceed west toward Salina, then from Salina head north on US‑89 through Manti, Sanpete Valley, and on toward Provo area.
